RS-232 link at 250 kbps — what the data rate buys you
The MAX3222CDB is a Texas Instruments full-duplex RS-232 transceiver with a data rate of 250 kbps.
No extra LDO, no level translator for the RS-232 side — the charge pump generates the ±5.5 V swing internally from whatever rail you feed it. That saves a couple of passives and one regulator slot on the BOM.
Package and footprint — 20-SSOP
Housed in a 20-SSOP (5.30 mm body width), surface-mount only.
Receiver hysteresis — noise margin on the bus
Receiver hysteresis is 300 mV.
