Single-cell Li-Ion charge management with digital control
The LP3947ISD-09 is a power-supply support circuit that manages constant-current, constant-voltage charging for a single lithium-ion cell, with a maximum charge current of 750 mA and a regulated battery pack voltage of 4.1 V. The I²C and USB interface allows a host microcontroller to program the charge current and monitor charge status, making it suitable for portable devices where the charging profile must adapt to the input source or battery condition.
Charge safety and protection
Built-in over-voltage fault protection disables the charger if the battery voltage exceeds safe limits, preventing cell damage during a fault condition.
Housed in a 14-lead WFDFN with an exposed pad (14-WSON 4x4 mm), the package requires a thermal land on the PCB to dissipate heat from the charge pass element and the power supply support circuitry.
Lifecycle and compliance
RoHS non-compliant per the manufacturer's current declaration – verify exemption eligibility or plan for an alternate sourcing path if RoHS compliance is required for the end product.
