What this dual comparator does on your board
The LMV762MA is a dual, general-purpose comparator from Texas Instruments with push-pull outputs. It runs on a single 2.7V to 5V supply — or split rails — and delivers a 225ns propagation delay. That speed is enough for overcurrent detection, zero-crossing, or window comparators on a motor drive or PSU feedback loop, but not for high-frequency switching or fast ADC clocking. The push-pull output eliminates the need for a pull-up resistor, saving a part and a trace on the board.
Rated -40°C to 125°C, so it fits outdoor telecom cabinets, engine-bay electronics, or a factory-floor PLC module without a second look. The 8-SOIC package is a standard footprint — swaps in with basic soldering iron, no hot-air station needed.
