What this clock conditioner does that a PLL doesn't
It takes a single LVCMOS, LVDS, or LVPECL input and fans it out to eight differential LVDS or LVPECL outputs at frequencies up to 2.16 GHz, with no internal PLL engaged. That makes it a clean clock distribution and jitter-cleaning stage for high-speed SERDES reference clocks, ADC/DAC sampling clocks, and FPGA transceiver reference chains where you want to buffer and condition a clean clock without adding PLL-induced phase noise.

The 2.16 GHz maximum frequency covers common reference clock rates. With a 1:8 input-to-output ratio, a single LMK03033 replaces multiple clock buffers, saving board area and reducing additive jitter from cascaded stages.
