Micropower comparator for threshold detection
The Texas Instruments LMC7225IM5X/NOPB is a single-channel, general-purpose comparator with an open-drain output, housed in a SOT-23-5 package. Its defining characteristic is the 1 µA maximum quiescent current, which makes it a fit for battery-powered or always-on threshold monitoring circuits where every microamp counts. The open-drain output lets it interface with higher-voltage logic or drive a pull-up resistor to any rail within the 2 V to 8 V supply range.
80 dB CMRR, 90 dB PSRR – noise rejection in the field
The 80 dB CMRR and 90 dB PSRR are strong for a micropower comparator. In an industrial or automotive environment with supply ripple from a DC-DC converter or common-mode noise on a long sensor cable, these figures mean the threshold stays within the 6 mV input offset budget at 5 V. The part holds its trip point without extra filtering in most panel-level applications.
