I²C temperature sensor with ±2°C accuracy over the full range
The LM75CIMX-3/NOPB is a digital local temperature sensor from Texas Instruments, part of the LM75 family, communicating over an I²C bus with 9-bit resolution. The 9-bit resolution gives 0.5°C per LSB — adequate for over-temperature protection and fan-speed control loops where 1°C granularity is enough.

Built-in shutdown and programmable limit
Features include an output switch (open-drain OS pin), programmable temperature limit, and shutdown mode. The OS pin asserts when the temperature exceeds the programmed threshold — useful as a direct interrupt to a microcontroller or as a hardware thermal shutdown signal without polling the I²C bus. In shutdown mode the device draws minimal current, suiting battery-powered or low-standby-power designs where the sensor is read intermittently.
