What this op-amp brings to a single-supply rail
The LM611AMN: The 800 kHz gain-bandwidth product and 0.7 V/µs slew rate suit low-to-moderate frequency signal conditioning.
Package and mounting — through-hole for serviceability
Housed in an 8-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package with through-hole leads, the LM611AMN is suited for socketed breadboards, prototyping, and field repairs where a soldered SMD part would be harder to swap.
This limits the part to indoor, temperature-controlled environments — office equipment, test gear, appliance control boards. Not suited for automotive under-hood or outdoor telecom cabinets without additional thermal management.
Package and mounting
The input offset voltage is specified at 3.5 mV (typical), with an input bias current of 10 nA. For a general-purpose amplifier these are adequate for DC-coupled signals above a few millivolts. If your application requires sub-millivolt precision or high-impedance sources (e.g., pH probes, photodiode transimpedance stages), this part will need a trim circuit or a precision op-amp with lower offset and bias.
Output drive capability
The 25 mA output per channel can drive an ADC input or a small relay coil via a transistor.
Lifecycle and compliance note
It is listed as RoHS non-compliant — verify your local regulatory requirements if you are shipping into RoHS-enforced markets.
