What this audio subsystem packs
The LM49150TL/NOPB is a Texas Instruments Boomer® Class D audio subsystem. The mono channel delivers 2.1W into 4Ω; the headphone outputs each deliver 42mW into 32Ω.
Key ratings and what they mean for the BOM
The headline output — 2.1W into 4Ω for the mono channel — is enough for a small speaker in a portable speaker dock, a handheld radio, or an industrial annunciator. The headphone output at 42mW per channel into 32Ω drives typical earbuds or headphones to a comfortable listening level. Because it is Class D, the efficiency is high (typically >85% at full power), which keeps the heat dissipation low in the 20-uSMD package — important when the board has no airflow. The I²C interface for volume and shutdown means you can route the control lines to a microcontroller without extra GPIO for analog volume pots. The depop circuit eliminates the need for an external muting FET or output coupling cap on the headphone path, saving board space and BOM cost.
