What the 10 mV/°C scale means for your error budget
The LM35DM/NOPB outputs an analog voltage that scales linearly at 10 mV/°C — at 25°C the output is 250 mV, at 100°C it is 1.0 V. No external gain or cold-junction compensation is needed; the ADC sees a direct Celsius reading. The ±1.5°C accuracy at 25°C is the baseline error; over the full 0°C–100°C range the total error stack includes the sensor's own linearity and supply rejection, so budget 2–3°C worst-case if the 4 V–30 V supply rail is noisy.
Sensing range and operating environment
Rated for 0°C to 100°C local sensing — this covers PCB ambient monitoring, enclosure air temperature, and thermal management in indoor equipment. It is not suited for sub-zero or high-temp applications like engine compartments or freezers. The 8-SOIC package with 0.154-inch body width fits standard 150-mil SOIC footprints; the surface-mount profile makes it a drop-in for automated assembly.
