Package and board-fit: 16-bump WFBGA
The LM3280TLX/NOPB ships in a 16-WFBGA package (supplier device package 16-TuSMD, 2.35x2.35 mm). Surface-mount only; no through-hole variant exists. The 2.35x2.35 mm footprint fits into space-constrained handheld or module designs where a larger QFN would not clear the keep-out zone.
Rail architecture: one buck, three LDOs
The part integrates a single 2 MHz step-down (buck) converter and three linear regulators. Output 1 is the buck, adjustable from 800 mV to 3.6 V at 300 mA — this covers the core voltage for a low-power MCU or RF SoC. Outputs 2 and 3 are fixed 2.85 V LDOs at 20 mA each, sized for analog or I/O rails that need low ripple. Output 4 is also a fixed 2.85 V LDO at 20 mA, giving three independent 2.85 V rails for separate supply domains (e.g., PLL, ADC, and serial interface). The 2 MHz switching frequency keeps the buck inductor small — typically 2.2 to 4.7 µH — and pushes the switching noise above the audio band and most sensor signal chains. No sequencer, no LED driver, no supervisor are integrated; power-up sequencing and fault monitoring must be handled externally if the application requires them.
For an outdoor IoT node that sees -40°C startup, the lower limit is a hard floor; the part will not start below -30°C ambient.
