100 kV/µs CMTI — why it matters on a motor drive or inverter board
The ISO7830DWWR guarantees a minimum of 100 kV/µs, which is well above the noise from a typical IGBT or SiC MOSFET switching leg. That means the output stays clean — no glitches, no false edges — when the ground on one side jumps several hundred volts in a few nanoseconds. For comparison, the automotive-grade ISO7741QDWRQ1 (4-channel, same 100 Mbps, 5000 Vrms isolation) specifies 40 kV/µs minimum CMTI, so the ISO7830DWWR offers more than double the transient immunity for the same data rate. Propagation delay is symmetrical at 16 ns max for both rising and falling edges, with pulse-width distortion held to 4.1 ns max. That timing consistency matters when the isolator is in a feedback loop or a timing-critical SPI chain — you are not adding skew that forces you to slow the bus down.
