Quad LVDS receiver for 400 Mbps serial links
The Texas Instruments DS90LV048ATMTC/DRPB is a quad-channel LVDS receiver in a 16-TSSOP package, designed to convert low-voltage differential signaling back to single-ended CMOS levels. Each of the four receivers handles data rates up to 400 Mbps, making this part suitable for high-speed backplane interconnects, camera serial interfaces, and display links where noise immunity and low EMI matter.
Texas Instruments has ended production, and no last-time-buy window remains open. The DS90LV048ATMTC/DRPB is available now only through independent distribution and surplus channels.
The 400 Mbps per-channel data rate is the raw serial bitstream limit for each receiver. In practice, with an 8b/10b or similar encoding overhead, that translates to roughly 320 Mbps of payload per lane — enough for a 1080p60 video stream or four aggregated 100BASE-TX Ethernet links. The LVDS common-mode range of roughly 0V to 2.4V (relative to the receiver ground) means the differential pair can tolerate a couple of volts of ground shift between the transmitter and receiver, which is common in multi-board chassis with separate power domains. If your system runs at lower rates (10-100 Mbps), the part still works with no speed-related penalties — the 400 Mbps rating is the ceiling, not a floor.
16-TSSOP footprint and layout notes
The four receiver inputs (RxIN+ and RxIN- pairs) are differential and should be routed as 100-ohm controlled-impedance pairs with a ground plane beneath. Keep the termination resistor (100 ohms across each differential pair) within 0.5 inches of the input pins to minimize stub reflections at 400 Mbps.
