LVDS dual receiver for point-to-point links
The DS90LV028ATMX is a dual LVDS line receiver from Texas Instruments' DS90LV028 family, designed to convert differential LVDS signals back to single-ended CMOS levels in high-speed serial links up to 400 Mbps. With two receiver channels and no drivers on-chip, this part is a pure receive-side component for point-to-point or multi-drop LVDS buses where the transmitter is separate.
Rated for 400 Mbps per channel, the DS90LV028ATMX handles typical LVDS clock and data rates for backplane, cable, or board-to-board interconnects.
8-SOIC package and rework considerations
Housed in an 8-pin SOIC (0.154-inch body width, 3.90 mm), the package is straightforward to hand-solder or hot-air rework. The 1.27 mm pin pitch gives plenty of room for probe points and inspection. Pin 1 is marked with a dot and a bevel on the package body — no ambiguity under a microscope. Surface-mount only — no through-hole variant. The low pin count and wide pitch mean a basic two-layer board handles the fan-out without vias.

The manufacturer has flagged it for eventual phase-out, so new BOMs should evaluate the active successor or a pin-compatible alternative. RoHS non-compliant — the part contains lead in the solder finish. This matters for EU RoHS-regulated products; an exemption or a RoHS-compliant variant (check the DS90LV028 family suffix) may be needed for new builds.
