100 Mbps LVDS — what the data rate buys you
The 100 Mbps data rate is the raw serial bit clock the LVDS pair can sustain. In practice, that translates to a 50 MHz clock signal or a 100 Mb/s NRZ data stream over a few metres of twisted-pair or differential PCB trace. The full-duplex architecture means the transmitter and receiver operate simultaneously on separate pairs, so a single DS90LV019 handles bidirectional traffic without a direction-control pin — useful for full-duplex UART or SPI-over-LVDS links.
The Tape & Reel suffix (TMTCX) indicates it ships on a 13-inch reel, typically 2500 pieces per reel. The 14-TSSOP footprint is shared with many other TI LVDS parts, so a layout designed for this package can often accommodate a substitute without a board spin.
