At 400 Mbps, the edge rate of the LVDS signal is fast enough that PCB trace impedance and termination matter. The driver expects a 100-ohm differential termination resistor placed as close as possible to the receiver input. Stubs on the LVDS pair should be kept under 5 mm to avoid reflections that close the eye diagram.
