Single LVDS driver at 400 Mbps — what the data rate buys you
That data rate supports short-reach serial links like display interfaces, clock distribution, or backplane data paths where the cable or trace run stays under a few meters. At 400 Mbps the transition time is about 1.4 ns, so the signal-integrity budget on the PCB trace length and impedance matching matters more than with slower logic families — keep the stub length under 0.5 inches and match the 100 Ω differential impedance for the pair.
That means TI no longer manufactures this exact order code, and no last-time-buy window remains open through the factory channel. The DS90LV011AHMF/NOPB variant (lead-free, same die) is the closest official alternative, but it too is end-of-life. There is no active-production pin-compatible drop-in from TI in the DS90LV011 family; a design requiring a fresh allocation should evaluate the DS90LV011A or DS90LV027 (dual driver) in the same package, but verify the pinout and supply voltage range against the datasheet before committing the board.
Temperature grade and supply — where it fits
The single driver in a SOT-23-5 package means one differential pair per chip, which keeps the board layout clean for point-to-point links but adds per-channel cost compared to a quad driver in a larger package.
