LVDS quad driver for 5V backplane links
The DS90C031TM/NOPB is a quad LVDS driver from Texas Instruments, delivering four differential outputs from a single 4.5V to 5.5V supply. It is designed for point-to-point or multidrop signaling over controlled-impedance traces, common in display interfaces and high-speed backplanes.
If your BOM runs on 3.3V, you need a level translator or a different LVDS driver family. The 4/0 driver/receiver count means this IC only drives; it does not receive. Pair it with a separate LVDS receiver (e.g., DS90C032) when bidirectional or differential input is needed.
Housed in a 16-SOIC (0.154", 3.90mm width) surface-mount package, the DS90C031TM/NOPB uses a standard SOIC-16 footprint. The 1.27 mm pitch is layout-friendly on two-layer boards, though the LVDS differential pairs benefit from 50-ohm controlled-impedance traces on an inner layer.
