Single-axis linear Hall sensor with wide supply and temperature range
It outputs an analog voltage proportional to the applied magnetic flux density, covering a sensing range of ±18 mT. Supply voltage spans 2.7 V to 38 V, allowing direct connection to common automotive and industrial rails without an external regulator. A 20 kHz bandwidth supports fast-switching current sensing and motor commutation loops — the sensor tracks the field without the phase lag that would introduce error in a closed-loop controller.
Error budget and temperature compensation
For a current-sense application, this reduces the worst-case error stack-up compared to an uncompensated Hall sensor that might shift several percent over the same span. Maximum supply current is 3.6 mA, and the analog output can source up to 2.3 mA — enough to drive the ADC input of a typical MCU without a buffer. The TO-92-3 package (through-hole) simplifies prototyping and is still common in high-vibration automotive modules where a soldered lead is preferred over a surface-mount joint.
