The CD74HC30PW is a single-gate 8-input NAND from the 74HC family, packing all eight inputs into one 14-TSSOP package. That 22 ns propagation delay at 6V, 50 pF load sets the timing budget for the downstream latch or flip-flop — if your clock period is under 44 ns, this gate adds a full half-cycle of setup uncertainty.
TSSOP-14 footprint and rework reality
Under a hot-air station, the 0.65 mm pitch is forgiving — you can drag-solder this without a stencil if the board has soldermask-defined pads. The 125°C max junction means the plastic body handles reflow profiles up to 260°C peak per J-STD-020, but the narrow body (4.4 mm) heats up fast; keep the nozzle above the part, not beside it, to avoid lifting adjacent passives. Pin 1 is marked with a dot on the top surface — visible under a loupe after reflow. The 14-TSSOP has no exposed pad, so the thermal path is through the leads only; for a gate drawing 2 µA quiescent, that's not a concern, but if you're driving the full 5.2 mA output into a heavy load, the board copper under the part should have a solid ground pour to sink the heat.
