17 ns propagation delay — what it means for the bus
Maximum propagation delay is 17 ns at 6 V and 50 pF. That figure is used for timing closure over temperature and supply.
Military temperature range — not just a spec sheet number
Rated from -55°C to 125°C, this part suits environments where commercial or industrial parts would fail. The 14-DIP package is socket-friendly for prototyping.
Quiescent current and output drive
Quiescent current is a maximum of 2 µA across the supply range — negligible for battery-backed or always-on circuits. Each output can source or sink 5.2 mA, which is enough to drive one or two standard CMOS loads or a low-power LED indicator, but not enough for a relay coil or a long cable without a buffer. The symmetrical drive (5.2 mA high, 5.2 mA low) keeps rise and fall times balanced, reducing radiated emissions in edge-rate-sensitive designs.
