Quad AND gate in a 14-TSSOP footprint
The CD74HC08PW packs four independent 2-input AND gates into a 14-TSSOP package — a space-efficient logic building block for control signal gating, enable/disable logic, and mask operations on a mixed-voltage board.
Switching speed and drive at the board level
Maximum propagation delay is 15 ns at 6 V with a 50 pF load — fast enough for most general-purpose logic interconnects below 20 MHz, but the actual toggle rate at the receiver depends on the trace capacitance and fan-out. Each output sources or sinks 5.2 mA, sufficient to drive a single standard CMOS load or a low-power LED indicator, but not intended for high-current bus lines. Quiescent current maxes at 2 µA, keeping the static power draw negligible in battery-powered or always-on subsystems.
The 14-TSSOP body measures 0.173" (4.40 mm) wide — a fine-pitch surface-mount package that requires controlled soldering profiles and careful stencil design for the 0.65 mm lead pitch. Supplier device package is 14-TSSOP; the tube packaging (not tape-and-reel) means pick-and-place feeders need a tube handler or a transfer to embossed carrier tape for automated assembly. Surface-mount mounting with ROHS3 compliance — no lead-free process change needed for RoHS-sensitive BOM lines.
ROHS3 compliant per, with no halogen or lead restrictions beyond the standard exemption list. The 74HC series is a mature CMOS logic family with broad second-source availability — the HC08 function is offered by multiple vendors in the same 14-TSSOP footprint, reducing single-source risk on the BOM.
