16-DIP buffer with wide 3V-18V rail
The CD4503BE: It operates across a 3V to 18V supply range, making it a straightforward choice for legacy 5V, 12V, or unregulated battery-powered logic rails where a single supply covers the whole board. That means it survives the thermal extremes of an engine bay, a cold-soaked avionics bay, or a downhole instrument without a grade bump — the same part number serves both the prototype and the qualified build.
Two elements, six buffers total
The CD4503BE contains two independent buffer elements: one with two bits, the other with four bits, for a total of six non-inverting channels. Because the outputs are push-pull, there is no pull-up resistor needed on the output side. The high and low drive currents are asymmetric (14.1 mA source vs 23 mA sink), which matters when the load is capacitive or when the fan-out to multiple CMOS inputs must stay within the DC budget.
