Dual JK flip-flop for wide-voltage logic chains
The CD4027BM is a dual JK flip-flop from the 4000B series, with set and reset inputs and complementary outputs. Each of the two elements stores one bit, clocked on the positive edge. Supply range is 3 V to 18 V. Clock frequency is 24 MHz, and propagation delay is 90 ns at 15 V with a 50 pF load.
The 4000B series is known for robust noise immunity at higher supply voltages, which helps in industrial and automotive (non-AEC) applications where supply rails are noisy.
Quiescent current and output drive
Quiescent current is only 4 µA, making the CD4027BM a strong candidate for battery-backed or always-on logic blocks where standby power matters. Outputs source and sink 6.8 mA each, enough to drive a standard CMOS input or a low-power LED indicator directly. Input capacitance is 5 pF, so fan-out calculations stay straightforward.
The supplier device package is 16-SOIC. This is a standard footprint shared with many 4000B and 74HC series parts, easing board layout reuse.
