Supply voltage and logic thresholds
The 3V to 18V supply range is the defining feature of the 4000B family — it lets this gate work in systems with unregulated battery rails, 12V industrial buses, or 5V TTL environments without a separate level translator. Input logic-low threshold is 1V to 2.5V, and logic-high is 4V to 12.5V, scaled with VDD. At 5V supply, a standard TTL output drives it cleanly; at 12V, it interfaces directly with 12V sensor outputs or relay coils.
