2.4 GHz radio front-end — no baseband baggage
The Texas Instruments CC2500RGP is a 2.4 GHz TxRx Only transceiver — a pure radio front-end without an integrated baseband controller or MCU. It handles the RF modulation and demodulation (2FSK, GFSK, MSK, OOK) up to 500 kBaud, and talks to a host processor over SPI. This architecture keeps the radio power budget lean but means you supply the protocol stack and timing in an external MCU.
