Sub-1 GHz transceiver for ISM-band links
The Texas Instruments CC1101RTKG3 is a sub-1 GHz RF transceiver IC for general ISM-band applications. It covers three frequency ranges — 300 MHz to 348 MHz, 387 MHz to 464 MHz, and 779 MHz to 928 MHz. The device supports 2FSK, 4FSK, ASK, GFSK, MSK, and OOK modulation formats. Receiver sensitivity is -116 dBm, maximum data rate is 600 kbps, and output power is up to 12 dBm. The SPI serial interface handles configuration and data transfer.
Current consumption and power budget
Receive current ranges from 14.3 mA to 17.1 mA depending on the band and settings. Transmit current spans 12.3 mA to 34.2 mA, with the higher end at maximum output power. These numbers matter for battery-life calculations in wireless sensor nodes or remote controls — a coin-cell design may need to duty-cycle the radio aggressively.
For dual-sourcing resilience, the CC1101 family includes several package and temperature variants — check the base product number CC1101 for compatible options.
