Gamma buffer for TFT-LCD column drive
It buffers the resistor-ladder tap points that set the gamma reference voltages for the column drivers, delivering a clean, low-impedance replica of each reference level across the panel's grayscale curve. Each of the four channels delivers rail-to-rail output swing, 32 mA output current, and a 10V/µs slew rate with 8 MHz -3dB bandwidth — enough to settle the gamma reference lines within the horizontal blanking interval of most LCD resolutions up to full HD. Supply current sits at 1.1 mA per amplifier, keeping the total thermal budget low in the tight 14-TSSOP package that fits alongside the timing controller on a slim panel driver PCB.
Supply range and rail headroom
The single-supply range spans 3.5 V to 12 V, or ±1.75 V to ±6 V in split-supply mode. For a typical 5 V or 3.3 V LCD controller supply, the 3.5 V minimum means a 3.3 V rail is below the guaranteed operating floor — plan for a 5 V rail or a boost converter if running from 3.3 V logic. The rail-to-rail output stage maintains swing within millivolts of each supply rail, which is critical for preserving the full gamma range when the reference voltages sit near the supply limits.
Package and footprint for panel assembly
Housed in a 14-lead TSSOP (4.40 mm width), the BUF04701AIPWRG4 uses the standard JEDEC MO-153 footprint shared with many TI gamma buffers and general-purpose quad op-amps. The surface-mount package suits automated pick-and-place for high-volume panel module assembly.
Lifecycle and compliance status
The ROHS3 rating covers the full substance restriction set including the four phthalates, so it passes EU regulatory screening without exemption paperwork.
