The 10 A max charge current places this part in the high-current synchronous buck class, not the linear charger tier. That means the external pass FETs, inductor, and input/output capacitors must be sized for the 10 A continuous path.
Fault protection set
On-die fault protection covers overcurrent, overvoltage, overtemperature, and short-circuit events. This reduces the need for external supervisory ICs or discrete comparators on the charge path. The overtemperature protection is particularly relevant for the 10 A charge current in confined enclosures — the IC self-limits before the inductor or FETs exceed their ratings.
