Charge current and input headroom
The BQ24195RGET delivers a programmable constant charge current up to 4.5 A max for a single-cell Li-Ion or Li-Polymer pack. The 4.5 A ceiling suits tablets, power banks, and handheld instruments that need fast charging from a 5 V USB or 12 V adapter. Maximum supply voltage is 17 V, which covers 5 V USB, 9 V/12 V Quick Charge adapters, and 15 V industrial rails without an external pre-regulator. The input over-voltage protection clamps transients above the abs-max rating.
I²C programmability and fault protection
An I²C interface gives the host microcontroller control over charge current, termination threshold, input current limit, and timer settings — no external resistors to swap for different battery profiles. Integrated fault protection covers over-current, over-temperature, and over-voltage conditions, removing the need for a separate battery protector IC in many designs.
