I²C interface for dynamic control
The I²C interface allows the host microcontroller to set charge current, termination threshold, and safety timer values in real time. This is useful for systems that need to throttle charging during high system load or adjust for different battery chemistries. The interface is fixed at I²C — no SMBus or proprietary protocol, so the firmware integration is straightforward on any MCU with an I²C peripheral.
The BQ24193RGER is an active, current-production part per TI's product status. It is ROHS3 compliant. There is no LTB window or successor announced — this part is still specified into new designs.
