I²C interface — control and monitoring
The I²C interface handles charge current, termination current, input current limit, and status readback (charge state, fault flags). No external resistors for current programming — everything is set in the register map. The host microcontroller needs an I²C port with standard-mode or fast-mode support; the BQ24160YFFT responds to its own slave address. This saves board space and allows dynamic adjustment during charging.
