Single-cell Li-Ion charger with 1A programmable current

The Texas Instruments BQ24045DSQR is a linear battery charger IC for single-cell Lithium Ion or Polymer packs, with programmable charge current up to 1A and maximum input voltage of 28V.

What the 1A charge current and 28V input mean for your BOM

The 1A maximum charge current sets the charge rate for a given battery capacity. The 28V input tolerance lets the charger run directly from unregulated wall adapters or 24V industrial rails without a front-end regulator.

Programming charge current — one resistor, no digital bus

Charge current is set by a single resistor from the ISET pin to ground — no I2C, no digital interface. The BQ24045DSQR offers current as its only programmable feature.
