Single-cell Li-Ion charger — 4.1V termination, no digital bus required
The BQ2057SN is a constant-current, constant-voltage linear charger for single-cell Lithium Ion/Polymer packs, terminating at 4.1V. The 15V absolute maximum supply input gives headroom for a 5V or 12V regulated rail without a pre-regulator. Charge current is set with a single external resistor — no I2C, no SMBus. This keeps the BOM lean and the firmware dependency at zero for basic charging.
8-SOIC footprint — 3.90mm body, tube shipment
The narrow body suits dense layouts on two-layer boards. Shipped in tube rather than tape-and-reel. If your pick-and-place line is set up for reel feeding, factor in the tube-to-reel transfer or order the tape-and-reel variant separately.
This covers most portable and consumer equipment, indoor industrial gear, and battery-backup circuits, but does not meet AEC-Q100 automotive-grade requirements for under-hood or cabin deployment. Lifecycle status is 'Active' — Texas Instruments continues to manufacture the BQ2057SN with no announced PCN or EOL. The part is safe for new designs and production BOMs.
