200k sampling rate — per-channel throughput trade-off

The SAR architecture delivers 200,000 samples per second across the multiplexer. With four single-ended inputs, each channel sees an effective 50 ksps when all four are scanned sequentially — adequate for temperature, pressure, or level sensing where the signal bandwidth is below 25 kHz. Single-ended input configuration means each of the four channels is referenced to a common ground. For differential signals or noisy environments, an external driver with a low-impedance reference plane is needed to maintain the 12-bit noise floor.

The reference is taken from the supply itself — the reference accuracy tracks the supply tolerance, so a precision LDO or reference buffer ahead of the VREF pin is recommended for applications requiring better than ±1 LSB absolute accuracy. At 5 V supply, 1 LSB equals 1.22 mV. For a 0–10 V sensor front-end scaled to 0–5 V, this yields roughly 0.024 % of full-scale resolution — adequate for most industrial analog inputs without external amplification.
