About the model

SMD resistor markings follow IEC 60062. A 3-digit code uses two significant figures followed by a power-of-ten exponent — 472 means 47 × 10² = 4.7 kΩ — and suits tolerances down to ±5%. A 4-digit code adds one more significant figure (1002 = 100 × 10² = 10 kΩ) for ±1% parts. The EIA-96 code, also ±1%, replaces all the digits with a two-digit lookup into a preferred number series (01 = 100 … 96 = 976) followed by a letter multiplier (Z = 0.001 … F = 100 000). In any format the letter R sits in for the decimal point, so 4R7 = 4.7 Ω.

For the parts themselves: SMD resistors and resistor kits carry these markings on their bodies.
