1-channel capacitive isolator, 3750 Vrms reinforced grade
The Skyworks SI8712BC-B-IS is a single-channel, unidirectional digital isolator built on capacitive coupling technology, rated for 3750 Vrms isolation. It ships in an 8-SOIC narrow-body package (3.90 mm width) in tube format. The input side runs from the same supply range, simplifying a single-rail design.
15 Mbps data rate with 35 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity
This timing symmetry matters for SPI or UART isolation where the clock-to-data skew budget is tight. Common-mode transient immunity is rated at a minimum 35 kV/µs. At this level, the isolator holds its output state through a fast ground-potential step between the two sides — a typical condition when a motor drive or relay bank switches and the return current jumps across the isolation barrier. Rise and fall times are 15 ns and 5 ns typical respectively, so the output edges are fast enough for 15 Mbps signalling without excessive ringing into a 15 pF load.
