Automotive-grade 16Kbit EEPROM with Microwire interface
The ROHM BR93H86RFVT-2CE2 is a 16Kbit serial EEPROM from the Automotive, AEC-Q100 series, organized as 1K x 16 bits and accessed through a Microwire serial interface.
2 MHz Microwire — throughput for the serial bus
The 2 MHz clock frequency on the Microwire interface translates to a theoretical read throughput of 2 Mbps, which is enough for reading a full 16Kbit frame in about 8 ms. Compared to the sibling BR93H86RF-WCE2 which runs at 1.25 MHz, this part offers a 60% faster bus clock, which matters when the host controller polls the EEPROM during a tight power-up sequence or when storing multiple calibration maps. The write cycle time is 4 ms per word or page, so the bus speed advantage is on the read side — writes are still gated by the internal programming pulse.
Package and footprint — 8-TSSOP-B
Housed in an 8-TSSOP (4.40 mm width) with the supplier device package designated 8-TSSOP-B, this is a surface-mount part.
