Adjustable 1.5 A LDO in a small exposed-pad SOIC
The ROHM BD00HC5MEFJ-LBH2 is a single-output, adjustable positive LDO regulator rated for 1.5 A continuous output. The 1.2 V maximum dropout at full load means you need about 1.2 V of headroom between input and output — at 1.5 A that dropout generates heat, so the exposed pad on the 8-HTSOP-J package is there to pull that heat into the PCB copper. The enable pin lets you sequence the rail on and off, and the built-in over-current, over-temperature, and soft-start protections handle the usual startup and fault scenarios without external supervision.
Dropout and thermal — the two numbers that decide the board
The 1.2 V max dropout at 1.5 A sets your input rail minimum. The 1.2 mA maximum quiescent current is modest for a 1.5 A part.
It works in outdoor telecom gear, factory-floor sensors, automotive cabin electronics (non-AEC-Q100, so not for under-hood safety-rated modules), and any enclosure that sees ambient heat. The storage temperature exceeds this range — that's the handling limit, not the running limit.
