Wide-input adjustable LDO — the rail you didn't need to pre-regulate
The BD00EA5WFP2-E2: The BD00EA5WFP2-: The ROHM BD00EA5WFP2- is a single-output positive adjustable LDO regulator that takes a raw input up to 42V and delivers a regulated output from 1.2V to 16V at up to 500mA.
Dropout headroom and quiescent budget
At full 500mA load the maximum dropout is 0.83V. That means a 5V rail needs at least 5.83V at the input to stay in regulation under worst-case load — a 12V bus gives plenty of margin, but a 5V rail from a loosely regulated supply may need a higher input tap. The quiescent current is 46 µA, low enough for always-on keep-alive rails in automotive ECUs or industrial controllers where the regulator stays powered even when the system is in sleep. Enable control lets you gate the output from a GPIO or a supervisor, cutting the load entirely in standby.
Protection and temperature range
Over-current and over-temperature protection are built in — the part shuts down before the die exceeds safe limits or the output current exceeds the 500mA rating.
