RL78/G23 core and memory envelope
The R7F100GGH3CNP#HA0 is a 16-bit RL78 MCU running at 32 MHz, with 192 KB of on-chip flash program memory, 20 KB of SRAM, and a separate 8 KB EEPROM block for non-volatile data storage without external serial memory. The 192 KB flash is organized as 192K x 8 bits; the 20 KB RAM and 8 KB EEPROM are also byte-addressable, which simplifies data buffer management in the 16-bit memory map.
Peripheral set and I/O count
40 general-purpose I/O lines are available in the 48-WFQFN package — a high pin-to-package ratio that leaves room for parallel LCD data buses or multiple SPI chip selects alongside the serial interfaces. On-chip peripherals include capacitive touch sensing (self- and mutual-capacitance), low-voltage detect, power-on reset, PWM timers, and a watchdog timer — enough to run a touch-panel HMI without external supervisor ICs. Serial connectivity covers CSI (clock-synchronous serial), I²C, LINbus, SPI, and UART/USART — the LINbus interface makes this MCU a natural fit for automotive body-node or sensor-cluster applications that share a LIN trunk.
Analog conversion resources
A 10-channel ADC offers selectable 8-bit, 10-bit, or 12-bit resolution — the 12-bit mode provides 4096 counts across the reference voltage, adequate for 0.1% precision sensor readouts without an external ADC. Two 8-bit DAC channels are included for analog output or comparator reference generation, reducing external component count in closed-loop control loops.
Surface-mount assembly; the supplier device package is designated 48-HWQFN (7x7). Moisture sensitivity level should be verified from the latest Renesas PCN before reflow — the exposed pad demands a solder paste coverage of at least 50% for reliable thermal and electrical contact.
