80-pin LFQFP with 69 I/O — the I/O count trade-off
The R5F56604DGFN#30 comes in an 80-LFQFP (12x12 mm) package with 69 usable I/O lines. That is 20 fewer I/O than the 89-pin sibling R5F56604DGFP#30, which ships in the same footprint but with a different pinout — so a board layout for the DGFP variant will not accept this part without a respin.
120 MHz RXv3 core with 512 KB Flash — throughput and memory headroom
The RXv3 core runs at 120 MHz, delivering the throughput for real-time control loops — motor field-oriented control, multi-axis servo coordination, or inverter commutation timing. The 512 KB on-chip Flash and 128 KB RAM leave room for a full HAL, RTOS, and the application stack without external memory. 32 KB of dedicated EEPROM handles calibration constants, fault logs, and production data without wearing the Flash array — useful for applications that write parameters every cycle.
CANbus, EBI/EMI, and mixed-signal peripherals for industrial control
Connectivity includes CANbus (for fieldbus gateways or motor-drive networks), EBI/EMI (for external SRAM/FRAM or parallel displays), plus I²C, SCI, and SPI for sensor buses and serial peripherals.
