Active RL78/G13 with 512 KB flash and industrial temp range
The R5F100LLGFB#30: The 32 MHz RL78 core delivers 41 DMIPS at 32 MHz, enough for real-time control loops in motor drives, inverters, and industrial sensors without an external coprocessor. The flash holds a full application stack including a real-time OS, communication protocol layers, and field-upgrade bootloader; the 32 KB RAM supports moderate data buffering for UART or I²C streams without external SRAM. An additional 8 KB EEPROM emulation space stores calibration constants and fault logs that survive power cycles.
Peripheral set and supply rail flexibility
The MCU integrates DMA, LVD, POR, PWM, and WDT peripherals. The 12-channel 8/10-bit ADC samples analog inputs from current-sense resistors or thermistors; the PWM timer drives half-bridge FETs directly. Connectivity includes CSI (clocked serial), I²C, LINbus, and UART/USART — enough for CAN-less fieldbus nodes and sensor hubs. Supply voltage spans 2.4 V to 5.5 V on a single rail — no separate I/O or analog supply required.
The package is MSL 3 (moisture sensitivity), so a bake before reflow is required if the sealed bag humidity indicator exceeds 30%.
Sourcing posture and lifecycle
Listed as Active with no NRND or EOL flags — the RL78/G13 family remains a current design-in target for Renesas. The part is RoHS3 compliant.
