Polymer capacitor in the SP-Cap GX series
The EEF-GX0D331R is a Panasonic polymer capacitor in the SP-Cap GX series, rated 330 µF at 2 V with ±20% tolerance and packaged in the standard 2917 (7343 Metric) surface-mount outline.
Low ESR and ripple current — the polymer advantage
The ESR sits at 3 mΩ, which is the primary reason to reach for a polymer capacitor over a conventional electrolytic. At 100 kHz the part handles 10.2 A of ripple current — that combination means the cap actively damps high-frequency switching noise on a power rail without the bulk and leakage trade-offs of wet electrolytic. The 2000-hour lifetime @ 105 °C sets the operating-life ceiling; above 85 °C ambient the derating clock runs faster, so a power-stage cap in a sealed enclosure needs margin-checking against the actual local temperature, not just the datasheet limit.
Package footprint and temperature grade
The seated height is 2.00 mm, placing this in the low-profile SMD band for space-constrained applications. The land pattern matches the 7.30 mm × 4.30 mm body, and the foot pattern must maintain pad uniformity to avoid solder-joint tilt on reflow. The -55 °C to +105 °C operating window covers the industrial temperature band; if the local ambient inside the enclosure approaches 105 °C, the cap's own self-heating from ripple current must be added to the ambient before applying any further derating curve.
