14-SOIC flyback controller with 75 W isolated output
The NXP TEA18361T/1J is a GreenChip™ flyback controller in a 14-SOIC package, designed for isolated offline power supplies up to 75 W. It requires an external MOSFET — the controller handles the PWM and fault logic, while the designer selects the switch for the target load.
Switching frequency and fault protection set
The switching frequency spans 25 kHz to 132.5 kHz, allowing the transformer size to be traded against switching losses — lower frequencies suit cost-optimised magnetics, higher frequencies shrink the core at the expense of FET drive power. On-chip fault protection covers over-power, over-temperature, and over-voltage conditions, which means the controller can latch off or auto-restart without an external supervisor IC in most designs.
Supply voltage and temperature grade
Operating from a 9.9 V to 30 V Vcc rail, the TEA18361T/1J accommodates a wide auxiliary winding range. The 14.9 V start-up threshold ensures the controller does not attempt to run until the bulk capacitor has charged enough to deliver a clean first pulse.
