Dual-core compute headroom for signal-chain integration
The SPC5644CF0VLU1 is a 32-bit dual-core MCU from the MPC56xx Qorivva family, combining an e200z4d and an e200z0h core in a single 176-LQFP package. The two cores can run at 80 MHz and 120 MHz respectively, allowing a single chip to handle both real-time control loops and higher-level communication stacks without a separate host processor. With 1.5 MB of on-chip flash and 192 KB of RAM, this part carries enough program and data space to run a full AUTOSAR or application-layer stack alongside motor-control or sensor-fusion algorithms. The 64 KB of EEPROM emulation (via the on-chip flash blocks) eliminates the need for an external serial EEPROM for calibration and configuration storage.
Peripheral set and connectivity for distributed control
The MCU integrates CANbus, Ethernet, I²C, LINbus, SCI, and SPI interfaces, so it can serve as the gateway or node controller in a multi-drop vehicle or industrial network. The 147 general-purpose I/O pins give enough headroom to interface with sensors, actuators, and external memory without a port expander. On-chip data converters include 27 channels of 10-bit ADC and 5 channels of 12-bit ADC, covering high-speed and higher-resolution signal chains from the same die. The DMA controller offloads the cores for peripheral-to-memory transfers, while the PWM and watchdog timer handle motor drive and system supervision.
