The PTN3366BSMP is a level shifter from NXP that translates DisplayPort signals to HDMI or DVI, compliant with DVI v1.0 and HDMI v1.4b standards. It is the active component inside DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapters and DVI adapter cables.
The 3.0V–3.6V supply range is a tight window — a 3.3V rail with ±5% tolerance sits at 3.135V minimum, which is within spec, but a 3.0V rail at 3.0V exactly leaves no margin for ripple. The I²C control interface is the only configuration path; the part has no strap pins, so the host must drive the bus at power-up. HDMI 1.4b compliance means the shifter supports 3D video, 4K at 30 Hz, and the Audio Return Channel (ARC). It does not support HDMI 2.0 — that requires a different part with higher TMDS clock rates.
