80 V, 4.3 mOhm N-channel — the power-switch workhorse
The PSMN4R3-80PS,127: The wide junction temperature range from -55°C to 175°C suits it for environments where ambient temperatures climb, such as under-hood automotive or industrial enclosures.
A 10 V drive is specified for the rated Rds(on); at lower gate voltages the on-resistance climbs. The 4 V maximum gate threshold at 1 mA drain current means the device is fully enhanced with a 10 V drive, but it won't turn on hard with a 3.3 V logic signal. For a 48 V bus with 25 A load, the 4.3 mOhm Rds(on) yields about 1.1 W conduction loss at 25 A — manageable with a modest heatsink. Avalanche ruggedness is implied by the 120 A continuous rating, but verify the single-pulse energy from the datasheet's SOA curves for your inrush or fault condition.
