Vybrid VF5xx — 500 MHz Cortex-A5 for HMI and industrial gateway designs
The NXP MVF51NN151CMK50 is a single-core ARM Cortex-A5 MPU from the Vybrid VF5xx family, clocked at 500 MHz. It integrates a NEON MPE coprocessor for multimedia acceleration and a DRAM controller supporting LPDDR2 and DDR3. On the connectivity side it carries one USB 2.0 OTG port with integrated PHY and two 10/100 Ethernet MACs — enough to run a small HMI panel or an industrial protocol gateway without external PHY for the USB side. The industrial temperature range (-40 to 85°C) suits it for factory-floor enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, and railway-adjacent equipment where extended ambient temperatures are routine.
Active lifecycle — no LTB pressure
The MVF51NN151CMK50 carries an active product status and ROHS3 compliance. There is no last-time-buy window to track and no NRND flag — it remains a valid choice for new production builds.
Peripheral set for a single-chip gateway
Beyond the headline Ethernet and USB, the additional interfaces cover CAN, I²C, SPI, UART/USART, SDHC, IrDA, and LIN — enough to connect a CANopen drive, an I²C temperature sensor, a UART-to-RS485 converter, and an SD card for data logging without external bridge chips. The display and interface controllers (DCU, GPU, LCD, VideoADC, VIU) support a direct connection to a parallel or LVDS display panel, which keeps the BOM count low for a combined HMI-and-control board.
