Pressure sensing for board-level airflow and filter monitoring
The NXP MPVZ5010GW6U is a vented gauge pressure sensor from the MPVZ5010G series, delivering a ratiometric analog voltage output proportional to applied pressure. Its 1.45 PSI (10 kPa) operating range suits low-pressure monitoring tasks such as filter clog detection, airflow verification, or altitude compensation in board-mount equipment.
0.2 V to 4.7 V analog output with temperature compensation
The sensor outputs 0.2 V at zero pressure and rises to 4.7 V at the rated 1.45 PSI (10 kPa) full-scale pressure, giving a 4.5 V span that a 5 V ADC reads directly with good resolution.
8-SO SMD package with barbless top port
Housed in an 8-SMD gull wing package with a top port (male 0.22 inch / 5.59 mm tube, barbless), the sensor mounts flat on the PCB and accepts a push-on hose for the pressure medium. The supplier device package is 8-SO, and termination is via SMD (SMT) tab — the gull-wing leads provide a visual solder-joint inspection point during assembly. Maximum overpressure rating is 5.8 PSI (40 kPa) — four times the operating range — giving margin against transient spikes during pump start or valve switching.
