50 MHz Cortex-M4 with integrated EEPROM
It packs 32 KB of Flash, 8 KB of SRAM, and a separate 2 KB EEPROM block for non-volatile data storage that survives firmware updates. The 1.71V to 3.6V supply range lets it run from a single Li-ion cell or a 3.3V rail with headroom for brownout.
Memory sizing and peripheral set
With only 32 KB of program Flash, this part targets cost-sensitive control applications where the firmware fits in a tight footprint — think sensor hubs, fan controllers, or simple human-machine interfaces. The 2 KB EEPROM is a practical advantage: calibration constants, device IDs, or fault logs stay written without wear-leveling overhead, and they survive a full Flash erase cycle. The 24 GPIOs, plus I²C, SPI, and UART connectivity, cover basic sensor readout and actuator commands. Integrated DMA, PWM, and a 10-channel 16-bit ADC offload the core for mixed-signal tasks like current sensing or temperature monitoring.
Housed in a 32-VFQFN with exposed pad (5x5 mm), the MK10DX32VFM5 demands a thermal via stitch under the pad for continuous operation near the 105°C limit. The pad is the primary heat path; without it, junction temperature climbs fast above 85°C ambient.
It is also ROHS3 compliant, so no RoHS exemption concerns for EU-market builds.
